Fishpond Wood and Beverley Meads : ウィキペディア英語版 | Fishpond Wood and Beverley Meads
Fishpond Wood and Beverley Meads is a 5.8 hectare local nature reserve adjacent to Wimbledon Common in the London Borough of Merton.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Nature reserves )〕 It is owned by Merton Council and managed by the London Wildlife Trust. In the Middle Ages Beverley Meads was owned by Merton Abbey, and it was later part of Warren Farm until it was acquired by Wimbledon Council in the 1950s. Fishpond Wood has two ponds which may date from medieval times〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Beverley Meads and Fishpond Wood )〕 and wetlands surrounded by mature oak and hazel woodlands. Beverley Meads is a mosaic of woodlands and acid grassland, which is a rare habitat in London, and is important for grassland butterflies.〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Beverley Meads and Fishponds Wood )〕 There is access to the site by footpaths from Wimbledon Common, from Barham Road, and from Robin Hood Way opposite Coombe Hill Road. ==References==
